Zhong Kui

The man who calls himself Zhong Kui descends from an ancient line of demon quellers, historically celebrated at Chinese New Year as a banisher of malignant spirits. He is associated with five bats representing the five fortunes: longevity, wealth, health, virtue, and peaceful death. The lore notes these are not a Hunter's fortunes, since only the curse and blessing of death await him and his companion.
