Perchta

A peasant's daughter from high alpine valleys, she lost herself in bloodshed after finding her violent, drunken father at dawn with his abdomen slit open and his entrails feasted on by beasts, and took on the mythological mantle of Frau Perchta — a Germanic figure of midwinter reckoning. Summoned to Louisiana to stop the Corruption, she brought her methods to the bayou, where in winter garlands of innards were found strung on trees and punishment was dealt each dusk to the wicked. Her variants Dusk and Dawn reflect feverish darkness and daylight reckoning.
