American Hunters Association (AHA)
The American Hunters Association (AHA) is the secretive organization that recruits Hunters, dispatches them against Corrupted threats, and pays their bounties. It claims to have existed in various forms for hundreds of years and maintains a 'legacy of silence,' binding members with oaths against disclosure. Its leadership has included figures like Director Philip Huff Jones and later administrators such as Mr. Chary.
The AHA's stated goal is a world freed from monstrous, mindless cannibalistic beings, but a shadowy sect within it works to keep the world's unpalatable truths covered up. It warns recruits that solidarity among Hunters is not guaranteed and that 'treachery comes in many forms,' hinting at internal corruption and betrayal. The Association also developed an inoculation against the Corruption distilled from creature corpses. Several of its directors and administrators (Huff Jones, Finch, Chary) drive the lore's overarching plots.
